A Unique Challenge

To walk beside the sea with a brisk breeze on your cheek and firm sandy turf beneath your feet is to experience golf as it was hundreds of years ago but arguably as it should be today – a simple beguiling game in need of no embellishment

Links golf is golf like no other. It is as the game was intended to be. In its earliest form it was a novel way to use land that was no good for arable farming, now it shreds apart the games of the worlds greatest golfers.

A links course is characterised by its hard undulating fairways, thick and natural rough, vast and particularly unreceptive greens, but the key ingredient that makes a links course so unique and so special….the weather. Courses can play differently every time they are played, a 400 yard par 4 can turn from a 3 wood, pitching wedge hole to a driver, 3 iron hole (for the pros, apparently?!).

There are over 30,000 golf courses in the world, only 246 of these can be classed as true links courses. Time to get playing…

That was the moment I fell in love with the links. I told myself. Enjoy it. Solve the puzzle.
